| A species changes over
time due to several factors: heredity, variability, changes in
the environment, and natural selection. Students can observe
heredity and variability as they visit a sow with her piglets.
Heredity is evident in the genetic trait of color that both
female and male have passed on. Variation is evident in the
different sizes of the offspring. |
